Mountain Beans
Chickpeas have always been a part of the culinary tradition of Basilicata.
One of the most famous dishes is “Lagane e ceci,” a traditional first course whose unique, simple, and genuine flavor brings out the full taste of Lucanian chickpeas.
But beyond their flavor, chickpeas are rich in vitamins A, B, C, E, and K, as well as calcium, iron, phosphorus, magnesium, sodium, potassium, and zinc.
They also help control cholesterol and blood sugar levels, reducing the risk of diabetes.
Chickpeas are an excellent diuretic food, promoting the elimination of excess salts from the body.

Our white “Fagiolo Bianco Todino” beans are grown in fields located at altitudes ranging from 500 to 900 meters above sea level — areas particularly well-suited for cultivation thanks to their abundance of natural spring water.
Both planting and harvesting are carried out by hand, with great care to preserve the integrity of the pods, protecting them from bruising, crushing, and discoloration.
