THE BEGINNING OF OUR STORY
The company Ci.Mas. was founded in May 2019 from the need to create and implement the project “Basilicore®” – Flavor and Tradition from the Heart of Basilicata.
The Basilicòre® project thus comes to life in Castelgrande, in the province of Potenza, from the desire of the local citizens to export the agro-environmental heritage that characterizes the Lucanian territory to the national and international market.
The challenge is to create a new opportunity and form of local economic development with the Lucanian territory as the main protagonist, particularly that of Marmo Platano and Melandro.
The Lucanian saffron is identified as the core of the entire Basilicòre® project.
Indeed, it is around this incredible spice that an innovative model for the enhancement and sale of typical products is built, with the aim of boosting the rural economy and the socio-economic development of the territory.
TERRITORY AND NETWORK
The territory is the protagonist of this project with its landscape, flavors, traditions, and citizens.
And it is precisely among the citizens, institutions, and food sector operators that a network is created aimed at qualifying the relevant mountain rural areas, focusing on recovering traditions, customs, and practices that constitute a cultural and identity heritage of immense value.
Starting from these principles and the network created, the Basilicòre® project evolves into a web platform with the primary objective of creating business, development, and enhancement of the territory.
All this through the promotion and marketing of typical products and eno-gastronomic routes that exalt the culture, tradition, art, identity, and all connected economic activities, including tourism and social aggregation.

VISION AND OBJECTIVES Our Vision represents the starting point, the start-up of a long-term project. A shared program that includes entrepreneurial and cultural aspects and elements, an extremely ambitious project that sees the Lucanian territories as a great opportunity for development and growth. Development and growth that go through the promotion of products and simultaneously of the territories and places of Basilicata. And it is in this context that our primary objectives take shape: enhancement of the territory the central role of its community and its cultural and historical roots the ability to interact with the environment respecting its rules the development of a business model that takes all this into account and brings economic wellbeing and social development. |
